How do I prepare for my Session?
Float: We have everything you need! We provide towel, washcloth, ear plugs, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. Swim caps and combs are for sale at the front desk should you wish to purchase them or bring your own. We do have a hair dryer by request. If you prefer a specific kind of soap or shampoo, we encourage you to bring that along. You may not want to overdo coffee before your float (there is no bathroom in the float room J) but also so you can relax. Hydrate!
Sauna: Nothing to do to prepare unless you’d like to wear something specific. Hydrate! Consider bringing a water bottle.
Bio Mat: No prep needed. Hydrate!
Ionic Foot Bath: Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate! Super important. The machine cannot “pull” toxins without enough water to conduct.
What should I expect when I arrive?
Friendly people and awesome service, of course! J If it’s your first time visiting us, we will ask you to complete a waiver/intake form at the front desk. If you are a return customer, there is a sign in sheet at the front desk.
What Do I Wear?
Float: Most people elect to float in their birthday suit. Others prefer a bathing suit. You are welcome to do what is comfortable for you.
Sauna: Lighter clothing is better. Shorts and T-Shirt, bathing suit, or we can provide you with a robe.
Bio Mat: Cotton clothing is recommended.
Ionic Foot Bath: Pant legs that can be pulled up to mid-calf is helpful.
Massage: You are welcome to undress to your comfort level. Sheets will be folded and draped accordingly throughout your session.
What does it feel like DURING my Session?
Float: Like you’re floating in a swimming pool. Even if you say you can’t float – trust us – you WILL float. The water temperature is supposed to match your skin temperature, giving you the feeling that you are one with the water and free floating. Some folks experience that sensation and others don’t. There is no right or wrong way to float. It’s about laying back and relaxing.
Sauna: It feels hot and sweaty!
Bio Mat: It mostly feels like laying on a large heating pad. You may also feel the infrared effect from the crystals.
Ionic Foot Detox: Most people do not feel anything during the session. Sometimes folks that are sensitive or very in tune with their bodies may feel a slight pull in the area that is being detoxed. But, most do not.
Massage: You will have the opportunity to discuss areas of soreness, pressure, etc. prior to your session beginning. Please feel free to talk to your Therapist during the session should you like pressure or technique adjusted. You should not feel pain or be uncomfortable! Some people like to chat throughout their massage, some prefer quiet. It is okay to let your Therapist know your preference.
What does it feel like AFTER my Session?
Float: Varies by person. Some people are very energized. Others are ready to take a nap. Most tell us they have a GREAT night sleep after a floating session. If you have chronic muscle soreness and pain, you will likely feel relief in the day(s) after floating. (Often times folks do not necessarily recall the absence of pain until pain returns.) Please remember to hydrate!
Sauna: Most people do not notice any prominent feelings after a sauna session. Please remember to hydrate!
Bio Mat: You will mostly feel relaxed. Please remember to hydrate!
Ionic Foot Bath: Many people report feeling “cleaner” and lighter with more energy. Please remember to hydrate!
Massage: Relaxed! Please remember to hydrate!

How is the Float Pod Cleaned?
The Float Pod is similar to a pool or hot tub when it comes to maintenance. The good news is that just the nature of a salt pod makes it even more naturally cleanly. Pathogens cannot live in salt water, and with 900 lbs of salt, nothing can survive in that environment. But, we also treat the tank between floats. It has its own filtration system that cycles between appointments. We also add hydrogen peroxide, bromine, sea clear, and other chemicals approved for pod use. The pod room (surfaces, shower, floor) is sanitized between every person. Everyone receives fresh linens.
Can I float while pregnant?
We first recommend checking with your doctor, but generally floating is safe during all phases of pregnancy. In fact, many women love floating in the 3rd trimester, as it is a safe environment in which to lay flat on your back! The tank if heated to skin temperature (94.5 degrees), so it is no warmer than a hot bath. It is NOT a hot tub. If you prefer a lower temperature, please let us know upon booking and we will place a note in your appointment file to set the temperature lower prior to your visit. You can always leave the lid open as well during your float to let cooler air into the pod. The tank will retain heat, but does not continuously heat throughout your session.
Do I need to set a timer?
That’s our job! Of course, you are welcome to time your own session, but please allow us to manage that part for you! It’s your turn to lay back and relax.
Can I change the temperature?
Float: If you are in the float pod and you know prior to your session that you would like the temperature adjusted up or down 1 to 2 degrees, we can place a note in your appointment file to adjust the temperature prior to you appointment time. We do need at least 15 minutes to regulate temperature. Once the float session begins, the pod does not continuously heat. If you would like to make it cooler, please feel free to float with the pod lid open.
Bio Mat: Yes! Please let us know if you would like the temperature adjusted at any time! We will check in with you during your session.
Sauna: Yes! The temperature controls are located inside the sauna. The sauna will not heat above 140 degrees for your safety, but you are welcome to lower the temperature at any time. You can also open the sauna door if you would like cooler air to enter the space. Of course, please exit the sauna if you feel it is too hot or making you feel unwell.
